The Iron’s 11v11 esports team will kick-off a brand-new season this evening with a game against Austrian Force.
The game will see the side compete in the VPG Championship South following their promotion from League One North in the club’s inaugural season of competitive football.
There will be a number of new teams they come up against this season as well as some rivals they faced last year, which include Tranmere United’s eSports outfit.
Manager Danny Pierce was delighted to achieve promotion during the first season which was always the goal when the team was created. Trials have been held over the last few weeks and some new faces have been added to strengthen the squad ahead of the season opener.
