Local junior football side Broughton Ravers U10s were able to form a guard of honour for both the Iron and Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
Twelve players from the side were present to enjoy the experience, which saw them allowed onto the pitch prior to kick-off, as they got involved with the pre-match routine.
They welcomed both teams onto the pitch, taking advantage of group booking prices, before enjoying the encounter against Stanley from the AMS Stand as part of our annual Grassroots Day.
Prior to the game, the side took advantage of a behind-the-scenes tour opportunity, which allowed them into otherwise restricted areas of the stadium. The group were able to pretend they were being interviewed in front of our press conference boards in the press room, before they gained access to the club's boot room.
The final stop was the home dressing room, where they were able to meet the players, having autographs and pictures with their favourites, before they awaited the arrival of the remaining players outside the player's entrance and looked on as the opposition team coach arrived.
Furthermore, at half time, the side were invited back onto the pitch to take part in the club's half time entertainment. They took part in a penalty shoot-out in front of the Grassroots Day contingent.
