SCENE SETTER
The Iron come into the game looking to continue their climb up the table and knowing that a victory could see them climb as 11th if other results go their way. They head into the fixture on the back of a 2-2 home draw against Colchester United, which extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches.
The Mariners have two games in hand and presently sit 20th in the division, and drew 0-0 at Carlisle United last weekend.
TEAM NEWS
Manager Paul Hurst expects James Perch to be fit for the game after initial concerns over medial knee ligament damage in the draw against Colchester.
Aside from Perch, Hurst says there are no fresh injury worries going into the game.
Levi Sutton returns from a one-match suspension incurred following his dismissal for two yellow cards against Forest Green, while Matthew Lund sits out the final game of a three-match suspension.
Regan Slater will undergo an operation on Monday on the ankle problem which has ruled him out since the start of November and is expected to be out for a further two months.
PAST MEETINGS
Kevin van Veen scored twice as we won 2-1 away at Grimsby Town in the Leasing.com Trophy group stages back in September.
Saturday's game will be our first league meeting in over 14 years, with the last of those being a 0-0 draw at Blundell Park in 2005.
