Leigh Doughty will take charge of the Iron's first away league encounter of the season at Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

In what will be Doughty's first-ever EFL encounter, the Lancashire-based official will take charge of the two sides for the very first time competitively following his promotion to the National List of Referees after one campaign on the National League.

A PE teacher by profession, he began refereeing in 2007 and was most recently handed the play-off semi-final between Salford City and Eastleigh in the National League last season.

Last season, he took charge of a total of 16 matches, 15 of which in the National League and one in the FA Cup, showing 38 yellow cards and two reds.

On Saturday, Leigh will be assisted by Ravel Cheosiaua and Ollie Williams, while Lisa Rashid will assume the role of fourth official.
