Charles Breakspear will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away league clash against Cambridge United on Tuesday.

The Surrey-based official will travel to the Abbey Stadium for his fourth game of the season in his seventh campaign on the EFL.

His first game of the campaign was Shrewsbury Town's slender 1-0 victory over Portsmouth at Montgomery Waters Meadow. Through the game, he showed seven yellow cards and one red. His most recent game came at the weekend when he took charge of Tranmere Rovers' 5-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers. He showed five yellow cards at Prenton Park.

He's taken charge of the Iron on six occasions in total, most recently last September when the side beat AFC Wimbledon 3-2 at Kingsmeadow following a brace from Josh Morris and the winner from Ike Ugbo. He showed three yellow cards on the day - all of which to Iron players; Matthew Lund, Andy Dales and Lewis Butroid. In total, in the six games he's been involved with Scunthorpe, he's shown 23 yellow cards and no reds.

Meanwhile, he's refereed Cambridge United on 15 occasions - their most recent being a goalless draw with Crewe Alexandra back in March. Four yellow cards were shown in the fixture. In total, across the 15 games, he's shown 59 yellow cards and one red.

In 2018-19, he took charge of 44 games, issuing 144 yellow cards and 12 red. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in three encounters, showing 17 yellows and three red.

On Tuesday, Breakspear will be assisted by Gregory Read and Oliver Mackey, while Ian Cooper has been appointed as the fourth official.
