The Iron will be looking to return to winning ways in Sky Bet League One when they take on Burton Albion at Glanford Park on Saturday 13th April (3pm kick-off).
Andy Dawson's side go into the match this weekend coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow last time out, which gave the side their first point away from home since the end of January.
Kyle Wootton notched his fourth goal of the season with a header midway through the first half, but Shrewsbury hit back five minutes from time to secure a point through a cross that took an unfortunate deflection off Adam Hammill and went into the net.
The result means Scunthorpe are 18th but, such is the tightness of the bottom half of League One, they could climb a few places with victory on Saturday.
As for Burton Albion, they are unbeaten in their last four league matches and go into the game on sitting 10th and in good form following two impressive results against Barnsley (3-1 win) and Sunderland (1-1 draw).
TEAM NEWS...
Dawson has confirmed right-back Tony McMahon will miss at least the next three games with a hamstring injury picked up at Shrewsbury last weekend.
Tom Pearce came off with a groin problem during the same game and will be assessed before the Brewers visit Glanford Park.
Meanwhile, Levi Sutton is back in training after missing out last weekend through illness, and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has returned to training following treatment on a hamstring injury at parent club Manchester United.
Josh Morris (fractured fibula and strained ankle ligaments), Matthew Lund and Jordan Clarke (both knee) are back on the training pitch but will still be out of action for an unspecified length of time as the medical staff continue to monitor them, though Dawson is hoping they will still have a part to play this season.
Elsewhere, Ryan Colclough (knee) is out for the remainder of the season. Rory Watson (arm) is back on the training pitch too but is working towards a return at the start of pre-season in his recovery.
PAST MEETINGS...
There haven't been too many meetings between the two sides over the years, with just six matches taking place in all competitions.
However, the two teams have already met twice this season, once in the league at the Pirelli Stadium back in September and the other in the FA Cup first round at Glanford Park in November.
The Iron have a good record against the Brewers though, and have only lost one game in the six played, winning three and drawing two in the process.
It finished all square at the Pirelli, as the teams played out a 0-0 draw in the league earlier in the season, but the Iron won the FA Cup fixture, progressing to the second round with a 2-1 victory.
James Perch and Lee Novak both netted in the first half, before Liam Boyce scored late on to set up an exciting finish, but United held on for the win, and will be hoping to repeat that same success on Saturday.

ONE TO WATCH...
Versatile forward Lucas Akins has played in numerous positions for Burton over the years.
However, the 30-year-old has found home leading the line this season, scoring 11 goals and creating seven assists in all competitions.
The striker has notched four goals in his last five games in the league, in a run of form that has seen him pick up a nomination for player of the month for March.
Akins started his career in West Yorkshire with Huddersfield Town and progressed through the club's academy before making his first team debut in 2007.
Although, the following season, the forward was loaned to non-league side Northwich Victoria, where he spent three months before getting released by the Terriers in the summer of 2008.
Then, Akins went north of the border in search of first team football and joined Hamilton in the Scottish Premier League for two years.
However, in 2010, the striker returned to England and signed a deal with Tranmere Rovers. It was here where he really started to gain attention, playing 77 times and scoring seven times, which caught the eye of Stevenage two seasons later.
As a result, Akins made the switch to fellow League Two side Stevenage in 2012, where he went on to net 13 goals in over 70 games for the club.
In 2014, the forward joined Burton and has been a regular in the side ever since, appearing over 185 times so far and making a name for himself as the star man in Nigel Clough's team.
