Goalkeeper Jak Alnwick made a superb save late on for the Iron against Burton Albion on Saturday, and was pleased to keep a second clean sheet in succession.
With just minutes left to play, the loanee pulled off a great save to keep the score at 0-0 and ensured United came away with a point.
On that save, Alnwick told iFollow Iron: “The one at the end was a horrible one because it has come through a few bodies, but I need to make big saves at big times.
“The lads did well in front of me and gave me a quiet day. When I am called upon, I need to make that one big save and give them a clean sheet that we deserve.”
The 25-year-old also thought it was a good point to pick up away at the Pirelli Stadium.
He said: “We didn’t play at our best and were a bit sloppy at times. Although, we have got a point against a team that were recently relegated and they are a good side.
“Looking at it, I think it is a good point. It's a clean sheet away from home and if we are going to pick up points when we are not playing very well, we will take it. We didn’t deserve to lose the game.”
Next up for Stuart McCall’s team is sixth-placed Charlton Athletic, who visit Glanford Park on Tuesday night.
“We are on a bit of a run at the moment, being six unbeaten in the league,” said Alnwick.
He added: “We know if we can play to our best, we can get a result against Charlton. They are a good side though.
“If we play better than we did against Burton, we will get the three points.”
