Andy Haines will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home FA Cup first round clash against Burton Albion.
The Tyne and Wear-based official will travel to Glanford Park for his fourteenth game of the campaign.
His first game of the campaign was Walsall's 2-1 home victory over Plymouth Argyle in which he showed five yellow cards. Meanwhile, his latest encounter came on October 27th when he oversaw Rochdale's slender home victory over Charlton Athletic. On that occasion, he issued four yellow cards.
He's taken charge of the Iron on 18 occasions in total, most recently back in September 2018 when he took charge of the 1-0 home victory over Shrewsbury Town. He showed five yellow cards. In those 18 games, he showed a total of 56 yellows and no reds.
Of those encounters involving United, 16 of them have come at Glanford Park, so Saturday will be Haines' 17th appointment with the whistle at the stadium over the last decade.
Meanwhile, he's refereed the Brewers on ten occasions, most recently an encounter involving the Iron back in 2016. He issued two yellow cards in the game which saw a close-range Neal Bishop goal separate the two sides over 90 minutes. In total, while refereeing Burton, he's issued 31 yellow cards and one red card. Most notably, he was in charge when Albion scored their first-ever Football League hat-trick in the 6-1 win over Aldershot Town.
In 2017-18, he took charge of 33 games, issuing 99 yellow cards and six red. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 13 encounters, showing 45 yellows and three reds.
On Saturday, Haines will be assisted by Barry Gordon and Barry Cropp, while Aaron Bannister has been appointed as the fourth official.
