Following consultation with club officials, SAG and Humberside Police, the south corner of the Clugston Stand will be closed to home fans for the fixture against Bradford City on Saturday.
Scunthorpe United are keen for the area to be available and have held positive talks with officials in order to be able to have it open to home supporters for the Play-Off semi-final fixture, with a view to remaining open next season when it is not used by large away followings.
Tuesday evening’s home fixture against Plymouth saw incidents of pyrotechnics and other anti-social behaviour from a very small minority in that section of the crowd. The Iron would like to remind supporters that such behaviour could lead to serious implications for the club. Should there be a repeat of such incidents then we will have no option but to close the area for home supporters.
