The loanee, who had spent the first part of the season at Wigan, scored United’s third of the match.

After the game, Toney spoke to iFollow Iron about his goal, the result and commented on his strike partnership with Tom Hopper.

ON THE 3-3 DRAW…
IT: I think we should have won the game, especially coming to Wigan and scoring three goals. It wasn’t meant to be. If we cut out the goals we're conceding, and play the way we play, then I think we have a great chance to stay in the play-offs.

ON TAKING A POINT…
IT: We want to be getting three points. We were looking positive towards the end but we conceded a sloppy goal and then we managed to see out. We will take a point from here and concentrate on the next game.

ON SCORING AGAINST HIS FORMER SIDE…

IT: I was buzzing to get on the scoresheet. It meant a lot to me with my family here watching. Not just against an old side, but just being back on the pitch after an injury, I wanted to come back with a bang. I managed to do that and get on the scoresheet for the boys.

ON WANTING TO CONTINUE TO SCORE MORE GOALS…
IT: If the strikers get the chances, I am sure we will put a majority of them away. The chances need to be created first and hopefully me and Hops (Tom Hopper) can put them in the back of the net.

ON THE PARTNERSHIP WITH TOM HOPPER…
IT: I was buzzing for him for both goals. They were great goals, especially the second one where he drifted to the back post and put it back opposite the goalkeeper. He is a great player and you can see him working hard for the side, defending and attacking. If we keep working together, I am sure it will be a great partnership and we both can play a big part in finishing the season well.

ON RETURNING TO THE SIDE FROM INJURY…
IT: I am feeling good. I wanted to come back with a goal and I managed to do that.

ON THE SHREWSBURY MATCH NEXT WEEKEND…
IT: Anyone can beat anyone in this league. We have got to go into the game with a positive frame of mind and I am sure we will win.
