The 26-year-old reckons the Gills will offer another tough test, following the Iron’s 0-0 draw with them earlier in the season.

Morris previewed the game with iFollow Iron and also gave his views on the recent new signings.

ON THE PORTSMOUTH DRAW LAST WEEKEND…
JM: I think it was a good point in the end. We didn’t start too good, but I think we picked up in the second-half and feel we maybe should have won the game. It is not an easy place to go and play. It was also tough conditions with the pitch, but I thought we battled well in the second half. It is not a bad result being away, but it would have been nice to get the win.

ON KEVIN VAN VEEN AND TOM HOPPER…
JM: They are both playing well together. They did that at the start of last season, but both of them got injured on separate occasions. We know what they can offer – Hopper works his socks off and Kev has been scoring the goals. They work well together and it is good for the team.

ON RETURNING TO GLANFORD PARK…
JM: It is nice to have two back-to-back home games and we have got to make the most of that playing in front of our own crowd and on our pitch. It is not an easy place to come for most teams and we have got to make sure that we continue that.

ON THE TEST GILLINGHAM WILL PROVIDE…
JM: It will again be a tough match. They have picked up on their results and anyone can beat anyone in this league, so it will be a tough game and one we are looking forward to.

ON PLAYING IN A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT POSITIONS…
JM: It has been different for me, but over the Christmas period with injuries and suspensions, I needed to do it. Hopefully I can get back to playing out wide and getting the goals and assists to go with it.

ON THE NEW SIGNINGS…
JM: They are great players. Obviously Ivan (Toney) was here last year so we know what he is all about. Cameron (McGeehan) and (Ryan) Yates are young lads with a point to prove. They look good and we have got a strong squad, which is one we need for the rest of the season.

ON THE STRENGTH OF THE SQUAD…
JM: There is still a lot of football to be played and a lot of points to play for. We need everyone we can, so I am looking forward to it.
