It was a hard-fought second game in the space of 48 hours for Graham Alexander’s side, but they broke down a spirited Shakers side to win 1-0 and make it ten points out of a possible 12 over the Christmas period.

Goode scored the decisive strike in the 86th minute and provided his reaction to iFollow Iron after the game.

ON THE VICTORY…
CG:
It’s a massive win in the end and makes it a really good Christmas period for us. We’ve had a lot of games, and followed up a tough match at Blackburn on Saturday, which took up a lot of effort and energy, where we got a good point. It was tough, and it was ugly at times, but we got the victory.

ON THE COMPETITIVENESS OF LEAGUE ONE…
CG:
Even where Bury are in the league, every team is tough. It was a hard game for us but thankfully we got the win in the end. It’s a competitive league. They were hard to break down and set up really well.

ON HIS GOAL…
CG:
It wasn’t the prettiest of goals but they all count, and we’re delighted with the win. It’s just nice to get a goal in general to be honest. It’s been a long time coming. We were 2-0 down the two other times I scored for us, so it’s nice to get a winner and a big three points.

ON PLAYING THE LAST FIVE MATCHES…
CG:
I’m ready to play and really want to every week. I want to cement my place and stay in there for as long as I can.

ON THE DAY ALL ROUND…
CG:
It was nice to get a clean sheet as well, because it’s a while since we had one of them. As a defender, it’s the best day possible.
