McGeehan made his first start for the club during last week's game away at Southend, which we unfortunately lost 3-2 in the dying stages after going down to ten men.

The 22-year-old has spoken to iFollow Iron about his first few weeks at Glanford Park, the Fleetwood contest and strong competition in the midfield positions.

ON SOUTHEND LAST WEEKEND…
CM: It was a tough, combative game, but it was a good introduction into League One. It wasn’t a great result for us so we are looking to put that right on Saturday.

ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE…
CM: I think we need to get to the basics of what we have been doing. We’ve gone through the last four games and broken them down because they were not the results we wanted. It is about working hard on Saturday to try and get a positive result from the game.

ON FACING FLEETWOOD TOWN THIS SATURDAY…
CM: I think it is going to be another tough game away from home. We will have to work hard and try to outmatch them, win the battle and try to get the three points.

"It has been a really good welcoming from the lads and the management team have been good with that as well. I’ve moved up closer to Scunthorpe as well, which always helps. I’m settling in really well, now it is just about getting games."

ON THE IRON FANS…
CM: There has been a lot of long away games, but the fans have been really good. Even when we were at Portsmouth, they were there and showed their support. It’s also a good, little ground here as well because it is tight and on top of you so you can really hear everything they are saying.

ON SETTLING IN AT THE CLUB…
CM: It has been a really good welcoming from the lads and the management team have been good with that as well. I’ve moved up closer to Scunthorpe as well, which always helps. I’m settling in really well, now it is just about getting games. That is how you settle in more and more.

ON WANTING TO ADD GOALS TO HIS GAME…
CM: The more games I play, hopefully the more chances I get. The wide lads create some good chances so hopefully I can get on quite a few of those.

ON PLAYING ALONGSIDE FUNSO OJO…
CM: It’s been fresh playing alongside him. He is a good player technically and you can see all of his qualities. I have enjoyed it. Neal Bishop has done really well in there, too. These are guys I can learn off. Bish has got a lot of experience and Funso gives you that different culture and style of play. It is really good to learn from.

ON THE COMPETITION IN MIDFIELD…
CM: I think it is healthy and can help players push themselves. There is also Ryan Yates who has come in as well. He is another young player looking to learn. There are some good players in there and have been doing really well all season.

ON HIS AIMS…
CM: I want to help the team get promoted. We are obviously in a good position at the moment. Other teams around us have been picking up points, but it is about us pushing on and being in control. The harder we push now, the more points we can get and hopefully get into the top two. If not, the play-offs is another viable route.
