United will be looking for a return to winning ways after last week's last-gasp 3-2 loss at Southend after going down to ten men.

Speaking to iFollow Iron, Alexander previewed the game and provided his team news.

ON TRAINING THIS WEEK…
GA: It has been good and informative. On Monday, we looked back at our previous two games and did a lot of analysis on Sunday to get to the answers of why the performance against Doncaster wasn’t matched at Southend. We delivered this to different groups of players and they can see the contrast in the performance. We have to give them reasons why we have to perform and how we can perform better. We want to see results in the remaining 16 games. It is important to know what we are good at and it is important to know what sort of targets we need to hit during the game. That builds up into a full performance. We didn’t win the game against Doncaster but it was a performance that should have won the game. We certainly did more than enough to win a game of football because we were superb. However, for Southend, we cannot say that.

ON FLEETWOOD TOWN…
GA: I know of their qualities. It is the same with every club, I don’t focus on them until the week we are playing them because I want to concentrate on my team and the direct opponents. We have done our usual work this week. We know they have good players, but we also know where we can do well. I say it regularly, but our performance is the most important thing on Saturday. If we perform to the levels we can, then we give ourselves the best chance of winning the game.

ON TEAM NEWS…
GA: We haven’t got any fresh injury worries, so that is a positive. There were a couple of players ill earlier in the week but they are back in training now. Neal Bishop and Matt Gilks are both going to be on the grass doing their own thing during training. Saturday is a bit of a squeeze and push, but hopefully we can get them back as soon as possible. We never risk players when they are not ready. It is important we think of the long-term. If we can get a majority of these boys fit and keep them fit, then we know what a strong team we have got.
