There will be a bucket collection in support of The Samaritans Scunthorpe at this weekend’s home clash against Gillingham.
The Samaritans Scunthorpe are a charitable organisation who for over fifty years have offered a confidential listening ear to local people who are upset or struggling to cope.
Their service is available round the clock by telephone and they also have regular visiting hours, where people can simply drop in to talk to them.
You don't have to be suicidal to contact them. Scunthorpe Samaritans are available to call on 116 123 and the call is completely free.
All monies raised by the local charity are spent locally to keep your Lindum Street branch open and also to promote their “Talk To Us” message in the area.
If you look around the stadium you will see they have invested some of this fundraising here at Scunthorpe United hoping to reach supporters who may need support.
No-one is paid for supporting the charity, everyone is a volunteer.
