Carl Boyeson will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Fleetwood Town.
The East Yorkshire-based official continues to stay local with his games so far this campaign having already refereed Doncaster Rovers, Grimsby Town and Lincoln City and will take charge of his third game of the season on Wednesday evening.
He took charge of the derby between the Mariners and the Imps at the weekend, showing three yellow cards in the 1-1 draw, while he issued six cautions in Rovers' 3-0 home victory over Wycombe Wanderers.
Boyeson last took charge of an Iron game back in January when the side lost to Gillingham at Glanford Park. You'd have to rewind a further five years for his previous involvement with Scunthorpe - a 1-0 defeat to Notts County in 2013.
He's taken charge of seven United fixtures over the course of 16 years - his first back on Boxing Day in 2002.
In vast contrast, Boyeson has taken charge of nine Fleetwood games in the space of time he's refereed one Scunthorpe encounter. The Cod Army have lost the last five games he's taken charge of involving them, but they did win three of the previous four.
In total, across the 16 games involving the two sides, just one red card has been shown along with 55 yellow cards.
In 2017-18, he took charge of 37 games, issuing 100 yellow cards and ten red.
On Wednesday, Boyeson will be assisted by David Avent and Richard Wigglesworth, while Danny Gratton has been appointed as the fourth official.
