Local junior football side Appleby Frodingham Saints U8s enjoyed a behind-the-scenes pre-match experience ahead of Saturday's 2-2 draw against Barnsley.
Ten players in the side, along with the two coaches and parents, were able to gain access to the otherwise restricted areas of the stadium.
Appleby Frodingham arrived sporting one of their two brand-new kits for the 2018-19 campaign, produced by FBT who are the Iron's kit suppliers. They are also sponsored by one of the club's regular sponsors Bulten. The side were first-prize winners of United's Grassroots Day 2018. For full details, click here. |
The 45-minute long tour saw the group visit the playing staff areas of the stadium. Beginning with the after match press room, the junior side were also allowed access into the referee's room and the boot room, before meeting the players who wear them.
The final stop was to the home dressing room with kick-off against Barnsley less than two hours away. The players took time pose for photographs and to sign autographs in that time before the group congregated outside the player's entrance to wait for the remaining players to arrive.
Further to that, the side were able to be a part of the pre-match build-up, taking part in our brand-new flag package (for further details, click here) as the two teams emerged from the tunnel.
