Striker Ivan Toney scored his sixth goal in ten games to help the Iron to a 1-0 victory against Charlton Athletic at the weekend.
United moved back into the play-off spots following the win, and Toney is confident they can remain in them.
Speaking to iFollow Iron, he talked about that, his goal and the massive result at the Valley.
ON THE 1-0 VICTORY AT CHARLTON…
IT: It is a massive result and the boys deserved it with the shift we put in. It doesn’t end here, we have to take it into the next games.
ON HIS FIRST-HALF MATCH WINNER…
IT: That is my job. I am here to try and get goals for the team. There are players behind me that can pick out a pass and Haks (Hakeeb Adelakun) had seen me make the run into the box. He put it on a plate for me.
ON HIS VOLLEY ATTEMPT IN THE SECOND-HALF…
IT: I do that all the time in training! The goalkeeper made a great save for it. It is tough technique, but I managed to catch it well and get it on target. The main thing is we got the three points.
ON MOVING BACK INTO THE PLAY-OFF SPOTS…
IT: It means a lot. We go out there to win and I am sure the boys are buzzing to get a clean sheet. I am in the team to try and get the goals and the three points. We managed to do that today.
ON HOLDING OUT FOR THE WIN…
IT: We showed great character and it was fully deserved. We battled well and slowed the game down when we needed to. We played very well.
ON THE REMAINING GAMES…
IT: I am sure we take a lot of confidence into these remaining games. We will go into them with the same mentality as we did against Charlton and have the same composure on the ball.
ON THE FEELING IN THE DRESSING ROOM…
IT: It is a great feeling. The lads are buzzing. Hopefully we can do the same next week.
ON THREE OF THE LAST FOUR GAMES BEING AT GLANFORD PARK…
IT: I am very confident. The fans have been getting behind us and I am sure we can get the points we need to remain in the play-offs.
