United come into the game following a 1-1 televised draw at Oxford, which saw Ivan Toney score during a superb first-half performance.

Plymouth arrive buoyed by a 4-0 home win over Southend, as fifth take on sixth in League One.

Marnick Vermijl and Lee Novak returned to the matchday squad for the trip to Oxford United and, though there were no fresh injury problems reported after the game, there may be temptation to freshen things up with it being the second game in 72 hours.

Luke Williams (scar tissue injury) returned to training last week, with Jonathon Margetts (knee) the only long-term absentee.

United were 4-0 winners at Plymouth Argyle in August 2017.

Paddy Madden followed in his own shot, which had come back off the crossbar, to make it 1-0 in the 27th minute following Josh Morris' pinpoint cross from the left.

He doubled his tally in the 68th minute, diving to head home Duane Holmes' near-post cross, after the substitute made room for himself with a dazzling run down the right.

Tom Hopper made it 3-0 in the 76th minute, diverting Morris' incisive ball down the left with the deftest of touches to convert off the inside of a post from just inside the area.

Morris was rewarded for his part in two of the goals, sweeping home United's fourth goal in the fourth and final minute of stoppage time.

Graham Carey helped the Pilgrims win promotion from League Two last season with his 14 goals and 16 assists from midfield.

He has scored 13 times in 41 league appearances so far this season, including a brace in the 4-0 home win over Southend.

The 28-year-old has also played 127 games in the Scottish Premier League, scoring on 11 occasions in spells for St Mirren and Ross County.
