Josh Morris: Back-to-back wins sets us up nicely

24 April 2018

Midfielder Josh Morris reiterated that “three points are the most important thing” following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Walsall.

The 26-year-old was again a part of the side that registered back-to-back single-goal wins and clean sheets and believes the side are hitting form at the right time. He gave his views to iFollow Iron following the encounter.

ON THE WIN AGAINST WALSALL…

JM: In the first half, it was a frustrating game for us. The most important thing is we won 1-0. The win is the most important thing at this stage of the season. Before the game, we had four games left and it’s up to us to try and win every game. Like I said, it was frustrating at times, but we always stuck to it and got the goal that we needed.

ON STAYING PATIENT…

JM: We’re at home and obviously we want to win every game three-or-four-nil and so do the fans, but it doesn’t always work like that and sometimes you’ve got to stay patient. On the pitch you’ve got to keep probing, passing and moving and creating what you can. It’s a great three points setting us up nicely for our last three games.

ON THE WINNING GOAL…

JM: It was a great ball from Conor (Townsend) and a great header from (Ryan) Yatesey. He’s done well to keep it down as it isn’t always easy coming onto the ball like that. It’s a great finish and three points that we needed.

ON THE FINAL THREE MATCHES…

JM: Keeping clean sheets and winning games anytime during the season is great, but to do it with three games left is the most important thing. If we go into the last three games like the previous two it will stand us in good stead. We’re working hard to try and prepare as best we can for MK Dons. Hopefully we can get the win that we need.
