The match comes off the back of a goalless draw against Blackpool at home on Saturday, with United still unbeaten in the league this campaign following three wins and three draws.

Blackburn come into the fixture following a comprehensive 3-0 away victory against Rochdale, with former loanee Richie Smallwood amongst the scorers. The three points put Rovers tenth following three wins and two defeats so far this season.

TEAM NEWS...
In his pre-match interview, Graham Alexander is expecting to have the same 22-man squad that was available for the Blackpool game at the weekend.

Murray Wallace played with a dead leg on Saturday, but is expected to be fit for the visit of Blackburn.

However, Luke Williams, who has had an operation on his hamstring injury and faces two-to-three months out, and Jonny Margetts (knee) will not be involved again. Meanwhile Andrew Crofts will also miss out for around three weeks after picking up an ankle injury in training.

PAST MEETINGS…
The two sides last met at Ewood Park in August 2014 in the League Cup. Neal Bishop's header from Gary McSheffrey's corner was enough to put Scunthorpe through to round two of the competition.

Prior to that, the two sides have only met twice competitively, in the old Division Three league campaign in 1971-72. Blackburn won their home encounter 3-0, while the score was 1-1 at the Old Show Ground.

ONE TO WATCH…
Signed for an undisclosed fee from Ipswich Town in the summer, Dominic Samuel has started life as a Rovers player in positive spirits, with four goals to his name already this campaign.

One of those four strikes proved to be the match winner at Bradford City, ending the Bantams' long unbeaten home record, while he last notched in their 4-1 home win over Milton Keynes Dons.

The 23-year-old has notched 18 goals in 63 career league appearances.
