United collected another two points as they edged to a 2-1 victory away at Gateshead.
Despite bad weather conditions, the Iron were able to combat that and their opponents in what was described as a tactical triumph in the first half playing into the wind.
Ronnie Waldock got an early goal for the Iron before Gateshead's Gibson restored parity on 50 minutes. Doug Fletcher would net the winner six minutes from time.
