Nine games into the Division Three North campaign, the Iron would suffer their first of only nine defeats during the campaign.
While no points were registered, Scunthorpe still netted twice, but conceded three for the second time in the campaign as they left Workington with nothing.
Indeed, the Iron played some of their most incisive football of the campaign to date, but were left complaining about Workington's second and third goals which were allegedly offside.
Nevertheless, the unbeaten run was ended and the side earned their first-ever Northern Section success against United.
