The spot-kick came following a foul by Posh goalkeeper Jonathan Bond on new Scunthorpe signing Simon Church and it followed an equaliser from Lee Novak in the second half.

Morris, who now has four league goals to his name, discussed the Peterborough result, the goal and his newest teammate in an interview with iFollow Iron.

ON THE PETERBOROUGH GAME…
JM: It was a tough match. We were 1-0 down in tough conditions but we showed the character and strength in the team, so it was a good win for us.

ON THE CHARACTER OF THE SQUAD TO TURN THE RESULT AROUND…
JM: You’ve got to show some character and some fight. In the first-half we were slow as it was a slow-tempo game which isn’t what is best for us. However, in the second-half, especially in the last 25 minutes, we showed what we were about and got on top.

ON PETERBOROUGH UNITED…
JM: They made it difficult but I think that it being difficult was down to us as well. I think that we let the game die down in the first-half because there was no tempo to it. Although, in the second-half we got amongst it, created a load of chances and probably should have won by more.

"I’m quite confident with penalties and you have to be, especially when you only have a couple of minutes to go. It was a nice one to score and a great win."

ON STEPPING FORWARD TO TAKE THE PENALTY…
JM: I had a chance earlier on in the half that I sent over so it was nice to take that one and stick it into the goal. I’m quite confident with penalties and you have to be, especially when you only have a couple of minutes to go. It was a nice one to score and a great win.

ON SIMON CHURCH SIGNING FOR THE IRON…
JM: If you look at his career, he has scored goals and played to a very high standard so the more help the better. I’ll look forward to working with him.

ON BEING ABLE TO ATTRACT THAT STANDARD OF PLAYERS TO THE IRON…
JM: You can see in the squad itself what kind of players we can attract and the ones that we managed to get last year as well. The players that came in during the summer are really good players and in my opinion it’s a case of the more the merrier.

ON THE IMPACT LEE NOVAK’S GOALS HAVE HAD ON THE TEAM…
JM: He’s done great and that one on Saturday makes it four goals that he’s scored for us. He’s done very well and he’s a great player that’s played a lot of the divisions as well. Therefore, he knows what it’s about and on top of that he’s a good lad that works himself hard.

ON HOW HAPPY HE IS WITH THE STRIKERS AROUND HIM…
JM: We’re not going to score loads of goals every game but as long as we keep working away and keep trying to create the chances then that’s the main thing.

ON GOING INTO THE OLDHAM GAME…
JM: They’re doing really well this month, so it will be a tough game. However, our confidence is back. Saturday was a great win and now we will look forward to next week.
