The 24-year-old played at left-back and put in an impressive performance to help keep the game level.

Wallace discussed the result, the replay and his time at left-back in an interview with iFollow Iron.

ON THE RESULT…
MW: I think the draw was a fair result. It was quite a scrappy game and neither team had any great chances or any spells in the game where they dominated. I don’t think that we played the way that we can play. They were getting quite a lot of free-kicks which kept breaking up the game a little and put us on the back foot.

ON THE BENEFITS OF PLAYING NORTHAMPTON SO OFTEN…
MW: I don’t see why it can’t have its benefits. By playing games in a short period of time you know that you can string together some momentum. It’s something that will be new to me and I imagine that it will be new to a lot of the other players as well. It’s not often that you play teams three times in less than three weeks.

ON NORTHAMPTON TOWN…
MW: I think that they were quite a physical team but I don’t think that they carved us open too much. They got a lot of free-kicks though and put us under pressure with those.

ON KEEPING THE CLEAN SHEET…
MW: It was nice to get back to keeping a clean sheet as it’s been a while since we’ve had one. We can take the positives from that now.

ON PLAYING AT LEFT-BACK…
MW: It’s a lot tougher than centre-back as you have to get up and down a lot more. The manager has spoken to me and said that I’ve got some attributes that suit the position. He said that I’ve got the stamina for it.

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FA CUP…
MW: You saw the buzz that it brought for the fans and the town when we played against Chelsea. It would be great if we could progress and get into those rounds where you get the big teams.

ON WHAT TO TAKE FROM THIS GAME AHEAD OF BRISTOL ROVERS…
MW: I think that we have to have to be a bit better on the ball and in our decisions. When we are doing certain things in the games we have to be a bit savvier. However, we did get the clean sheet which is a big positive.
