The Iron are delighted to announce trainee central defender Leslie Sackey has signed his first professional contract with the club.
After being offered the deal at the start of April, Sackey has now put pen-to-paper. He has signed a one-year deal with an option of a further 12-months in the club’s favour.
The 18-year-old joined United’s academy from Reading two years ago. He is 6ft tall and also capable of playing as a striker.
Sackey travelled with the first team squad for the League One game against Millwall at the beginning of the month and has put in a number of excellent performances for the under-18 side over the past couple of campaigns.
