Crosby United U8's and U9's enjoy end of season experience

22 May 2017

Crosby United U8's and U9's had a behind-the-scenes experience at the Iron's final home game of the regular season against Coventry City last month.

The two teams attended the Grassroots Day against Fleetwood Town back at the start of March, with all teams entered into a free prize draw to win a number of prizes.

Crosby United U8's and U9's were randomly selected in a number generator to flag bear the two sides onto the pitch for the final game of the regular season, along with a pre-match tour prior to the game.

The sides were shown the after-match press room, along with the boot room, medical room, the gym and the home dressing room, meeting the players, who posed for pictures and signed autographs before their 3-1 victory over the Sky Blues.

Stuart Atkinson, manager of Crosby United U8's said: "We had an absolutely fantastic day. The players, management and staff were all great with the lads and really patient. It was such a great opportunity. Parents have been thanking us for the opportunity that their children had so this is extended to yourselves."

Meanwhile, Matt Busby, who takes charge of the U9's side added: "Thanks goes to everyone involved, they will talk about this forever!"
