NESS LOOKING FOR SOME MOMENTUM

24 March 2017

Scotsman Jamie Ness is fully focused on getting back on the winning track against Bradford City this weekend.

The Bantams visit Glanford Park on Sunday, in a game which Ness says the whole Iron squad is striving to take three points from.

Speaking to The Iron PlayerHD, Ness said: “With the game being on Sunday, we had last Sunday and Monday off, which gave us the chance to go away and clear our heads a bit.

“They’re a big club, and we know what we’re going to get with Bradford.

“They maybe are a bit different to last year with the change of manager, but we’re focusing on it, coming up with our own gameplan, and hopefully we can start to turn things around.”

Ness states now is not the time to be studying the league table extensively, with perhaps the most crucial period of the season coming up.

“We’re just focusing on ourselves and trying to get back to winning ways - because we know it has not been good enough,” he stated.

“It’s important that we keep focused on ourselves and not worry about anyone else.

“We’re just taking each one at a time and trying to get three points on the board as quickly as possible.”

The midfielder explained things are very much wide open, and that racking up successive wins at this point in the campaign can act as a real catalyst for a strong finish.

“We’ve got seven massive games coming up,” declared Ness.

“We know what it is like to get momentum at the end of the season - we did it last year. If we can do that again it’ll give us a real good chance.

“We know we need to get that win on the board, and build from there.”
