6 March 2017

Our Grassroots Football Day was a big success at the weekend, with around 60 local junior football teams attending to add around 1,000 to the gate.

The majority of the local teams, who play in the Caparo League, Jack Kalson League and Lincolnshire Girls league, were situated in the AMS Stand with a couple of other groups also located in the Family Area of the SPB Stand and also the Clugston Stand.

We had around 1,000 supporters in the AMS Stand, a further 40 in the Family Area and another 40 in the Clugston Stand all taking advantage of our special offer recognising the work that goes into local junior football.

A massive thank you goes to all those teams, the team managers, players, representatives and parents for supporting the initiative and supporting the Iron against Fleetwood Town.

We had four prizes on offer in our free prize draw, with manager Graham Alexander randomly selecting the winners of the competition. We attached a number to each team and put the parameters into a random number generator to get the results of the competition.

1st - Graham Alexander attending one of your training sessions
TEAM: Park Tigers U9 (number 41)

2nd - Your team spectating during a first team training session
TEAM: Midtown United U10 (number 31)

3rd - A chance to be flag bearers on the Iron's final home league game of the season (v Coventry City 30/04/17) and group rate tickets for the match
TEAM: Crosby United U8/9 (number 23)

4th - An opportunity to enjoy group rate prices in one of our final games this season
TEAM: Crowle Colts U12 (number 47), Crowle Colts U9 (number 50), Burton United U7 (number 5), Messingham Juniors U7 (number 8), Bottesford Town Girls U11 (number 15)

Manager Graham Alexander has also sent along his thanks to all teams for their support on the day. You can watch the video by clicking here.
