Next up for the Iron in Sky Bet League One is a trip to face Charlton Athletic at the Valley on Tuesday night.
United were defeated 2-0 by Fleetwood Town at the weekend but, despite the loss, Graham Alexander says his side can build on the performance.
The Addicks themselves will be seeking a response too, after their narrow 2-1 away reverse at the hands of Northampton Town.
Alexander revealed Sam Mantom will once again miss out due to a groin injury, and added that the midfielder hasn't trained in the lead up to the game.
Mantom will be the only player unavailable to the Scunthorpe manager though, with Alexander declaring he has almost a full squad to choose from.
Ademola Lookman’s brace set Charlton on their way to victory in the two sides’ meeting earlier on this season.

Six minutes later that lead was doubled, as skipper Johnnie Jackson’s low drive crept into the bottom corner of Luke Daniels’ goal.
The visitors were once again bright after the interval, and got themselves back into the tie through Tom Hopper’s near post header.
Lookman got his second and Charlton’s third though, and sent the home side through to the next phase of the competition.
