Wootton signs new two-year deal

20 July 2017

Former academy product Kyle Wootton has signed a new two-year contract with Scunthorpe United.

Wootton joined the Iron as a 10-year-old in 2007 and has been promoted all the way through the club’s youth system.

Making his debut during the 2014-15 season, the 20-year-old has scored five goals in 34 league appearances for United (30 of those appearances coming as a substitute).

After netting a late goal in the opening day 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers, last season saw the frontman gather experience on loan at North Ferriby United and Cheltenham Town in the Conference and League Two respectively.

He has started pre-season well for the Iron, scoring twice in the 6-0 win at North Ferriby and will be looking to continue building on that over the coming weeks.
