Sutton on how the week has gone

20 July 2017

Defender Levi Sutton says the squad is in good spirits and feeling in good condition as United’s week at an Austrian training camp nears its conclusion.

The 21-year-old has been speaking to iFollow Iron about how it’s gone so far, and is looking forward to Friday’s friendly against SV Austria Salzburg.

ON HOW HE’S FOUND THE WEEK…
LS: It’s been very, very tough. Everyone knew it was going to be like this. It’s been good to get to know the new lads and to get used to playing football again. Obviously the fitness part comes with it too and gets you ready for the season.

"Last year was tough, and I’d say this year has been tougher to be fair."

ON KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT…
LS: Last year was tough, and I’d say this year has been tougher to be fair. Getting to know the new lads outside of football has been valuable too. I don’t think anyone can not be fit coming out here. I definitely feel a lot fitter than I did at the start. I want to play as many minutes as I can this year and this will help massively.

ON TUESDAY’S 6-0 WIN AGAINST SK STROBL…
LS: What we need at the moment is game time together, and we have the new signing coming in too (Funso Ojo) and have got to know how he plays too.

ON OJO’S FIRST TRAINING SESSION…
LS: He’s been really sharp to be fair and I expect him to do well. Competition is a good thing, especially in midfield.
