Lewis Butroid has enjoyed his debut pre-season tour as part of the first team squad.
The first year professional spoke to iFollow Iron on the fifth day of the training camp in Austria, as United gear up for the new campaign, which begins with a home clash against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, August 5th.
He also talked about how he’s looking to push Conor Townsend and make the left-back spot his own.
ON HOW THE TRAINING CAMP HAS GONE…
LB: It’s been a very hard week and very demanding, but it’s been enjoyable to go away with the team and get ready for the season in the best possible way. It’s my first pre-season tour and I’ve enjoyed it.
"I want to play as many games as I can and push Conor as much as possible."
ON AUSTRIA ITSELF…
LB: It’s unbelievable, I went up the top (of the mountains) yesterday. It’s a nice place and we’re having to work hard, but I’m enjoying the surroundings.
ON HOW HE’S FEELING…
LB: I feel a lot fitter and will feel it even more next week. It’s tough out here on your legs so sometimes it hurts when you wake up but you’re doing it to get better, so it’s good.
ON THE GAME AGAINST SV AUSTRIA SALZBURG ON FRIDAY…
LB: It’s nice to get minutes during pre-season and I’ll be looking to show what I can do, and will hopefully push for the left-back position with Conor (Townsend) all the way. I want to play as many games as I can and push Conor as much as possible.
