Burgess feeling the benefit

17 July 2017

Recent Iron arrival Cameron Burgess says the pre-season training camp in Austria is providing him with a great chance to settle in with his new team-mates.

Two full days in, the summer signing from Fulham will be in Obertraun with the rest of the United squad until Saturday and is feeling the benefit of the hard work.

He spoke to iFollow Iron ahead of Tuesday’s friendly, which will see Scunthorpe take on SK Strobl (5pm kick-off UK time).

ON THE TRAINING CAMP SO FAR…
CB: It’s been tough work but it’s all stuff you need to do. It’s been a good experience and my first trip away with the lads.

ON SETTLING IN…
CB: I’m still getting to know them only three weeks in, but it’s good to be amongst each other all the time and get to know one another, while getting a good week of hard work in.

"We’ve been out and about, and seeing a lot of it, though a lot of it has been running past it!"

ON THE OBERTRAUN BASE…
CB: It’s really nice, with lots of nice views. We’ve been out and about, and seeing a lot of it, though a lot of it has been running past it! It’s a nice place to be for pre-season though.

ON THE PHYSICAL WORK…
CB: It’s hot for all the physical work but it is what it is and will only make us better in the long run. We’ll keep working hard.

ON THE FRIENDLY VS SK STROBL…
CB: It’s all about game time in pre-season, doing the right things and working hard. We need to focus on ourselves, work on what we need to work on and get prepared for the season.
