The official from Tyne & Wear was the man in the middle for two United fixtures in the 2015-16 campaign, in games against Shrewsbury Town and Swindon Town respectively.
Throughout last season, Ilderton officiated 32 encounters and, in those, he cautioned 71 players and sent off four.
He’ll be joined on Saturday by assistant referees Nicholas Barnard and Ian Dudley, with Simon Mather taking up the role of fourth official.
