However, he believes that the Iron are working harder than ever to put recent results and performances behind them to collect all three points.

He previewed the game in an interview with iFollow Iron, looking at the Shrimpers and the festive period.

ON GOING INTO THE GAME AGAINST SOUTHEND…

MW: We’re all looking forward to it. The past few results haven’t been good enough and we’re looking to get back to winning ways.

ON WANTING TO GET A POSITIVE RESULT…

MW: We’re all working as hard as ever and after some bad results you probably try even harder. The results and performances haven’t been good enough, but we’re at home so hopefully we can change that. We just need to remind ourselves of what we were doing well.

ON THE OPPOSITION…

MW: It will be a tough game. Southend are a good team and a tough opposition every time I’ve played against them. They might fancy their chances considering our form.

ON THE BUSY SCHEDULE AHEAD…

MW: We’re all used to it. It’s the busiest time of the season. You are always hope that the pitches stay in good condition and the weather is alright. We will prepare ourselves right and get good recovery in between games.
