Winger Josh Morris is hoping the Iron can return to winning ways when Milton Keynes Dons visit Glanford Park on Saturday.
Morris also picked up the November Sky Bet League One’s Goal of the Month award for his second strike against Charlton Athletic, which he was delighted with.
He spoke to iFollow Iron about that award, the upcoming game versus MK Dons this weekend and on his versatility in the squad.
ON THIS WEEKEND’S GAME…
JM: We’re looking forward to getting back at home and hopefully we can put on a good performance and get the three points. We have won the last six games out of the last seven. We were going to lose eventually, though no-one wants to do that. We’re back at home now and looking forward to get in front of the home fans and make sure we put a good performance in.
ON MK DONS…
JM: They always like to play good football and play out from the back. It will be another tough game. They always are in League One and we won’t be approaching it any differently to what we have been.
ON WANTING TO BOUNCE BACK WITH A WIN…
JM: It’s a long season. You are going to lose games here and there. You don’t get many teams that go unbeaten. The main thing is getting a response on Saturday. If we play how we can, I’m sure we will have a positive result to go with it.
ON BEATING PROMOTIONAL RIVALS…
JM: It shows where you are as a team if you beat the teams up there and around you. It has been a positive for everyone. There is no point beating those teams and struggling against everyone else. We need to make sure that we continue that and get good results.
ON THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD…
JM: It’s different with the games coming thick and fast. You have your pre-season and I’m quite used to it now. It is just one of those things about being a footballer. You get a long break in the summer so it equals itself out.
ON WINNING LEAGUE ONE’S GOAL OF THE MONTH AWARD…
JM: I’m delighted. To score a goal like that, especially on my weaker foot, it was a big thing. It is nice for everyone to vote for me so big thanks for that. It is a nice award to win. My first goal in that game was good as well, but I think the second pipped it from a personal point of view. I will take a few tap-ins, but as long as we are winning, that is the most important thing for me.
