The Dutchman found the back of the net early in the first-half with a powerful strike to equalise for his side.

Speaking to iFollow Iron, van Veen was happy to get a point and spoke more about his recent form in front of goal.

ON THE 2-2 DRAW…
KVV: It was a very good point to take, as it is a very hard place to come to because they have a good team. They are on a long unbeaten run so I am happy with a point. They had a bit of pressure on us, but I am proud of the boys to keep on defending. As a whole squad, we kept defending very well and deserved a point.

ON THE TIMING OF THE EQUALISING GOALS…
KVV: We were 1-0 down and I equalised soon after so it was very important that we did it at the right time. In the second-half, they scored in the first minute, but we bounced back again. That’s a massive thumbs up to the team to fight back twice.

ON THE CHARACTER IN THE SQUAD…
KVV: We have done it a few times this season to come from behind. My goals have come when we’ve been behind, so the team spirit to come back is very good. We’re all working very hard for each other and we’re hard to beat. I think the latest results show that.

ON HIS GOAL…
KVV: I feel good and I’m very happy that I’ve scored a few goals lately and hopefully that continues. I’ve got my chance back and I want to show everyone how good I am. I want to score but if I perform well, do the link-up play well and we win, then that’s the biggest part for me.

ON HIS RECENT FORM…
KVV: I’m getting fitter. I’ve started quite a few games now and have scored a few as well. I have got a lot of confidence and in every game, I feel like I am going to score. I feel very good.

ON THE SUPPORTERS…
KVV: The fans were very good. They were chanting my name today so I’m very happy with that. I hope it continues and I hope I can get a few more goals.

ON THE BURY MATCH ON NEW YEAR’S DAY…
KVV: Every game in this league is hard. It’s not going to be an easy game and obviously (former Iron assistant boss) Chris Lucketti is their manager now. Our squad is very confident, very good and we will work hard for each other to get another three points on Monday.
