Iron receive high praise for matchday offering from latest EFL report

28 December 2017

The club have once again received some excellent feedback from the first mystery shopper report as part of the EFL’s Family Excellence Scheme, which was carried out by an experienced assessor at the fixture against Wigan on Saturday, 7th October.

The highlights of the report saw near perfect marks awarded in the areas of first impressions, social media, inside stadium and staff engagement, helping provide an overall recommendation score of 8 out of 10 and putting the club joint second in League One in terms of the family offering at Glanford Park.

In summarising the overall experience, the assessor commented: “Scunthorpe’s evolution as one of the EFL’s most family friendly clubs continues apace with the friendly engaging staff characterising an excellent experience.”

Scunthorpe United’s Chief Executive, James Rodwell, said: “We pride ourselves on creating a family friendly environment at Glanford Park so it’s fantastic to receive another positive report from the EFL’s Family Excellence Scheme.”

The report provided a number of mentions of frontline staff showing good examples of behaviours and service and the club’s CEO was keen to express the gratitude of the club to all members of staff.

He added: “The excellence of our staff being welcoming and going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure visitors to the stadium have a good experience shone through in the report. The Chairman and Directors would like to place on record their gratitude to all our matchday staff working on the frontline and doing a great job.”

Mr Rodwell continued: “The report also highlighted some areas for improvement and the ageing infrastructure at the stadium restricts the offering we can provide. However, this is something we’ll be looking to make significant improvements to when re-developing the stadium.

“Overall, the report was very positive indeed but we do recognise that there is still room for improvement and we would welcome supporters’ feedback on their experiences or any suggestions they may have, through the appropriate communication channels.”
