Holmes netted his eighth goal of the season inside the opening ten minutes at Bloomfield Road and was pleased to do so.

Talking about the victory to iFollow Iron, he also spoke about his goal, his versatility in the side and United's next match away at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

ON THE WIN AT BLACKPOOL…
DH: It was a really difficult game. We went 2-0 up early on and we were really exploiting the gaps in behind, but they started playing long balls to the big man up top and it was working for them. They made it a really tough battle, but it is great to get the three points at the end of it.

ON THE IRON’S FORM…
DH: We had a bit of a dip in form, losing the cup games, but we’re back at it now and really pleased.

ON SCORING HIS EIGHTH GOAL OF THE SEASON…
DH: It is always nice to score, but it’s about the three points.

ON PLAYING IN VARIOUS POSITIONS…
DH: It’s all about the team so I’m happy to be able to help out wherever I can. I’ve been playing in different positions but it’s good to just be out there.

ON THE IRON’S NEXT MATCH AT BLACKBURN…
DH: When we played them at our place, we thought it was a really even match. We lost in that match, but it could have easily been a different scoreline. We will focus on ourselves and if we perform to how I know we can, I think we can get something from out of the game.

ON THE FESTIVE PERIOD…
DH: The Christmas period is always good, because the best part, as players, is playing games and obviously they are coming thick and fast at the moment.
