The 22-year-old defender made his fourth league start of the season on Saturday and helped to secure a draw whilst a man down.

Goode discussed his performance, the game and the man of the match Matt Gilks in an interview with iFollow Iron.

ON GETTING BACK INTO THE FIRST-TEAM…
CG: It’s difficult as no-one wants to be on the bench not playing. I’ve been patient but now I’ve come in I can hopefully stay in the team.

ON IF HE FEELS THAT HE’S TAKEN HIS CHANCE…
CG: I hope that I have. As I always say when I play, I want to stay in the team for as long as possible. I want to play a big part and now I’m looking forward to the next game.

ON THE POINT AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GRINDING OUT THESE RESULTS…
CG: If it was eleven versus eleven I would have fancied us today. As soon as the red card came out we knew that it was going to be a tight game. We did well to get something out of it and stop the little run of bad results that we were on. Now we can continue up the table.

ON THE GAME AGAINST MK DONS…
CG: It was a tough opening 30 minutes that was quite tight. We both had our chances and we took the lead. We were disappointed to concede a goal but the team had a great reaction as Kev (Kevin van Veen) got a goal to put us back in front. The red card changed the game. As soon as the card came out we knew it would be a tight game. It was going to take a lot of desire, resilience to try and get something out of the game.

ON THE TWO GOALSCORERS…
CG: Haks (Hakeeb Adelakun) has been in great form recently and Kev has had to wait for his chance. He has come in today and got a goal which is what strikers have to do. Fair play to them and hopefully we can keep the goals coming.

ON THE MAN OF THE MATCH, MATT GILKS…
CG: It’s well deserved. He’s made four or five great saves and he’s a big talker as well. He talks to the back four or five and always keeps us on our toes so fair play to him. It was another great performance.

ON FIGHTING OFF THE MK DONS ATTACK TOWARDS THE END OF THE MATCH…
CG: After the red card it was always going to be that type of game. They’re a side that likes to play passing based football but towards the last ten minutes they were starting to put it into the box. That’s why we are defenders though as we have to get a head on it, get the blocks in and we did well to get a point.

ON THE UPCOMING GAME AGAINST SOUTHEND UNITED…
CG: As all of the games are, it will be very tough. They’re a good side and they’re always up and around the top six. It’ll be another tough game but we will aim to win it.
