He will be hoping that his side can bounce back with a win after losing at Walsall 1-0 last weekend.

Speaking to iFollow Iron, Alexander gave his thoughts on the upcoming match, a view on the Dons’ side, team news and congratulated Josh Morris on winning League One’s Goal of the Month award.

ON TRAINING AHEAD OF THE MK DONS GAME…
GA: It’s given us a chance to analyse what we didn’t do last week and work on it. What we did on Tuesday was very good and worthwhile. We’ve got a real good group of lads to work with who are hard-working. I don’t believe we did the basics in our play last week. It was a reset this week and go back to the basics of how we play. We have certain ways of starting games, getting into a game and what we do at different parts of the game. We changed a little bit in the second half but not enough. We need to be better in the whole game.

ON MK DONS…
GA: We know about the quality of their squad. They have had some very good results and results they would have been disappointed with as well. They are probably in a little bit of a false position I feel for the quality of players they have got. If you don’t perform to your maximum highest standard, you can get beat by anyone. MK Dons are always one of the ones in the running for promotion from this division. We know the quality they have, but I want to see our quality. We need to remember what we’re good at and make sure we showcase that on Saturday.

ON TEAM NEWS…
GA: We haven’t had anyone return to training this week, unfortunately. The ones that we thought were close have plateaued out a little bit so they won’t be fit for the weekend. Lee Novak will still be out for a good few weeks yet. With Funso Ojo, he has been close but he has plateaued out. He hasn’t trained with us. I’m hopeful for him to be back for next week. Sam Mantom and Luke Williams will hopefully be back with us around Christmas and New Year. They are still on schedule, but Johnathon Margetts will be a lot longer.

ON JOSH MORRIS WINNING LEAGUE ONE’S GOAL OF THE MONTH…
GA: I thought that goal was the best I’ve seen him score. Cutting inside on right foot, he had no right to attempt it from there. Even when he hit it, it seemed like it was going a few yards wide before it found a ridiculous bend to drop into the top right corner. It was an amazing strike.
