United enter the game buoyed by a 1-0 home victory over Oxford United on Saturday.
It was Scunthorpe's first league win of the season, and the success was secured in a hard-earned manner.
Josh Morris' 83rd-minute strike was enough to seal it, and the Iron head to the Championship 'Boro in positive spirits and keen to cause, what would be regarded by the wider football world as, an 'upset' against Garry Monk's side.
TEAM NEWS…
In his pre-match interview, Iron manager Graham Alexander confirmed Jonathon Margetts is set to miss the next three-to-four weeks with a knee injury sustained in training. He joins Luke Williams and Kyle Wootton in the treatment room.
Full-back Jordan Clarke will also miss out through a thigh strain but Alexander is hopeful he'll return to training on Thursday when United prepare for their trip to face Plymouth.
Kevin van Veen is another absentee, with Alexander waiting on the report of the injury that forced him to limp off in Saturday's win over Oxford when quizzed about it in press on Monday.
Otherwise, there are no fresh injury worries for the Iron.
