Ross Joyce has been appointed as the referee for Saturday’s away clash against Rochdale at Spotland.
The Cleveland-born official has taken charge of two games so far this season, showing seven yellow cards.
Last term, he showed 182 yellow cards and 12 reds in 44 games.
The last Iron game he was involved in was the 2-1 home EFL Cup second round home loss to Championship side Bristol City.
Alix Pashley and Kevin Mulraine are the assistant referees, with James Bell the fourth official.
