On Sunday, Scunthorpe United welcome Team Verrico to Glanford Park, where they are undertaking a “bucket rattle” collection before the match.
Team Verrico volunteers will be stood at strategic points outside the ground so please give generously as you arrive for the last game of the season. Team Verrico has a strong affiliation with our team, with Anna Verrico (whom the charity is named after) leading the teams out at the final game before her untimely passing in 2013.
Paul Verrico leads the charity and is a season ticket holder with his children Alessandro and Lucia. The charity has worked closely, with the team attending the annual charity ball and starting the Wedding Walk in 2015 at the ground.
Team Verrico is operated with an all-volunteer senior team with no employees. The aims of Team Verrico are to give referral support to provide a second opinion, counselling to support children and families affected by rare or difficult to treat cancer, and research grants to support new cutting edge research projects.
Team Verrcio volunteers and fundraisers are from all age ranges (from 9 to 86) and are made up of all shapes and sizes where they undertake marathons, sky dives, fun runs, cycling, walking and cake stalls and include our beloved hero here today Scunny Bunny!
