Graham Horwood will referee the Iron’s fixture against MK Dons at Stadium MK on Friday afternoon.
So far this season, Horwood has taken charge of 27 games, producing 106 yellow cards and dismissing six players.
Throughout the last campaign, the man from Luton officiated 12 games and, in those, he cautioned 46 players and sent off four.
He last refereed a United match back in January, when Scunthorpe defeated Northampton Town 2-1 at Sixfields Stadium.
He’ll be joined on Friday by assistant referees John Law and David Plowright, with Paul Hobday taking up the role of fourth official.
