At this point, wins are key

Scott Wiseman is looking to build on last weekend’s victory over Bolton Wanderers with another this time round, against MK Dons.

United travel to Stadium MK for a Good Friday clash with Robbie Neilson’s side, and Wiseman is optimistic following a strong showing in Saturday’s encounter at Glanford Park.

Speaking to The Iron PlayerHD, Wiseman said: “It’s an exciting one, especially coming off the back of a win at the weekend.

“We always want to play another game straight away, so we can capitalise on the form and performance which we put in.

“It was probably the first time in a while that both (performance and result) have come together, because it’s been one or the other over the past couple of months.

“However, everything did come together, and we showed what we really are capable of doing.”

The 31-year-old stated results are the priority now more than ever, but to marry both an impressive performance and result together against the Trotters is an added bonus.

“At this point of the season, performances aren’t key - it’s wins that are,” Wiseman stated.

“We know that, and what we’ve been lacking is the wins. The performances haven’t been bad, but the wins haven’t been coming.

“It’s nice that it came at the weekend, it’s come at a good time where we can now get back-to-back games in on the Friday and the Monday, which will be really good.

“If we can get maximum points there we can really solidify our position in the play-offs.”

Following Friday’s fixture, Wiseman and his team-mates face Chesterfield, Swindon Town and Coventry City - three sides who are fighting relegation.

Wiseman feels those tests come with a different dimension to them, and says the Iron will have to be on their mettle to achieve positive results.

“At this time of the season you need that competition, because we know these teams are going to be up for it,” he explained.

“It means that we’ve got to be up for it, we’ve got to be on our game and we’ve got to go and attack them.”
