The Iron's under-18 side drew 2-2 with local rivals Doncaster Rovers at Brumby Hall on Tuesday afternoon.
David Allasan put the Iron 2-0 up before a fightback from Rovers saw both teams earn a sharing of the spoils.
The Iron took the lead on 36 minutes when a good cross from the right was fired high into the roof of the net by the 17-year-old.
He made it 2-0 shortly after half time in the 46th minute, when he ran in behind the Doncaster defence before volleying an effort over the 'keeper.
The deficit was halved nine minutes later when a low cross was turned home at the near post after United lost possession of the ball in their own half.
With a minute left on the clock, Rovers equalised after a cross from the right was not cut out, allowing the visitors to tap home at the far post.
