United midfielder Josh Morris revealed preparations for Saturday’s trip to Chesterfield are going well.
Morris believes Danny Wilson’s side will provide tough opposition for the visitors but, at the same time, insisted everyone in the squad is looking forward to the chance to get back to winning ways.Speaking to The Iron PlayerHD, Morris said: “Chesterfield will be another tough game, we’re fully aware of that. We’ll work hard in training and look forward to it.
“We approach every game the same. We work hard on our strengths and how we can get at teams, which we’ll be doing ahead of the weekend.
“Preparations are going good. We’ve trained on Thursday and we’ll train again on Friday, and do a bit more shape work. We’ll also look at ways we can affect them and concentrate on ourselves, and go from there.”
Looking back at the midweek loss to Oldham Athletic, the 25-year-old says one poor result won’t unhinge the superb start the Iron have made to the campaign.
For Morris, it’s the way in which he and his teammates respond that’s the most important thing, and it’s something he stated the league leaders will be looking for on Saturday.
“We’ll work hard - it’s not won and lost in one game. We’ve worked hard all season, and it’s the response on Saturday which is the most important,” Morris highlighted.
“The response is the main thing, and to bounce back. It’s 14 games in and still top of the league. It’s been a great start for ourselves, so we can’t get too disheartened after one result."
He went on to say that no-one in the squad was pleased with the defeat to the Latics, but feels some perspective is needed.
“It was a disappointing result and performance,” he continued.
“However, it’s a long season. We know that we’re not going to win every game, but it’s up to us to respond on Saturday and put right Tuesday night.”
