LOAN WATCH

27 October 2016

Taking a look at the Iron players currently on loan away from Glanford Park…

In the second Loan Watch review, we round-up the fortunes of the likes of Scott Laird and Jack King in their spells away from the club so far, as well as providing an injury update on youngsters Jack Dyche and Noel Burdett.

Full back Scott Laird has maintained his impressive run of form at Walsall, with the 28-year-old completing two more full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw away at Gillingham and a 2-0 away success against Swindon Town.

King too continues to feature on a regular basis for Stevenage too, but there was disappointment in his latest appearance, with Boro going down 2-1 at home to Carlisle United.

Dom Vose’s Grimsby Town also slipped to a narrow defeat over the weekend, as they were edged out 1-0 by Cheltenham Town at Blundell Park. Vose could soon be playing under a new manager at the Mariners, after Paul Hurst left to join League One outfit Shrewsbury Town.

Down the road at North Ferriby Kyle Wootton is still searching for his first goal for the Villagers, in what has been a tough month or so for Steve Housham’s men.

Recent youth academy graduates Jack Dyche and Noel Burdett are both still waiting to get back out on the pitch following injury lay-offs. Both Dyche and Burdett started their respective loan spells at Ashton United and Frickley Athletic on a positive note, and they’ll be looking to continue in the same vain when they return.
